Arrow Senior Living is known for doing things a little differently and challenging the status quo within the industry. It’s just who we are! Even with all the technological conveniences of today such as social media and websites, it is still common to meet individuals with a skewed perception of what senior living looks like. In this blog, I want to share my senior living journey, why I remain committed to the industry, the biggest myth I believe exists, and how to help others overcome the myths surrounding our beautiful Fremont Senior Living community and services.

I started my career in senior living as the Sales Director at The Fremont ten years ago. Over the years, I grew with Arrow and relocated several times, eventually reaching the home office. A couple of years ago, I needed to leave for personal reasons. Fortunately, as I was relocating to Springfield, the position of Executive Director at The Fremont became available.

Executive Directors have the power to truly impact the quality of residents’ lives. Knowing that I can make a positive difference motivates me to keep pushing forward. While I’m just beginning my journey as an Executive Director, I may not have the best personal examples yet, but I’ve witnessed the impact firsthand.

The biggest misconception about senior living is that it’s synonymous with a nursing home. Many people hold onto that image from past experiences, often negative ones. The best approach to addressing prospective residents’ concerns is helping them overcome their fears about senior living. It’s common for residents to resist even simple matters, such as meal schedules.
