Living Our Word in 2025

Category: Senior Living

Author: Billy House-Henry, Executive Director

Choosing a “Word of the Year” is more than a fun tradition. It is a powerful tool for focus and growth at The Fremont Senior Living. A single word can guide decisions, inspire action, and unite teams around a shared purpose. By reflecting on the word selected for the year, we gain insight into how it shaped our culture, strengthened connections, and supported meaningful experiences for residents and staff. This end-of-year review allows us to celebrate successes, learn from challenges, and prepare for the year ahead.

Living Out Abundance Together

Our 2025 Word of the Year was Abundance, and our community embraced it with intention. We wove the theme into daily operations and resident experiences. Staff and residents partnered during community events, creating an atmosphere of generosity and shared support. This spirit was especially visible during donation drives. Everyone contributed through time, resources, or participation, ensuring each effort made a real impact. As a result, teamwork grew stronger and involvement increased. Most importantly, we were reminded that together, we always have more than enough to make a difference.

Abundance in Action Across the Community

Focusing on Abundance led to positive change throughout the community. Department heads came together to manage a high volume of work orders with greater efficiency and shared ownership. This mindset improved daily operations as well. Each shift took pride in resetting and maintaining their areas. Consequently, the community became more organized, welcoming, and dependable for residents and team members. Overall, abundance strengthened collaboration, increased pride in our work, and reinforced a shared sense of responsibility.

Lessons We Carry Forward

One key lesson we will carry forward is the power of shared responsibility. When everyone contributes their strengths, even large challenges feel manageable. Abundance is not about having more. Instead, it is about recognizing how much can be accomplished when people work together toward a common goal.

As we look back on the impact of our Word of the Year at The Fremont Senior Living, its influence is clear. This simple concept guided our priorities, strengthened our sense of community, and reinforced the values that matter most. By reviewing the actions and outcomes tied to this word, we celebrate what we achieved while identifying opportunities to grow. Let’s carry these lessons forward into the year ahead, because one word can truly make a difference when it is lived every day.
